PHYSIOCISE TRAVELS
Our clients and staff travel to some amazing locations, and our #PhysiociseTravels series is back again. We’ve seen stretches in Central West NSW through to balance exercises on mountain tops in Sri Lanka.
Come to Physiocise, and you can keep travelling. And don’t forget to snap a photo for us — we love seeing your adventures.

Chris Daly (Advanced Floppy Class) was sad to miss class for a trip to Rottnest Island in WA, but he continued his exercises while away. Here he is doing the bird/dog balance exercise. Look at the water colour!
Judith Burgess (Advanced Floppy Class) completed a 4-day Central West Cycling Tour in March. Here she is doing some stretches at lunchtime at Birriwa Station. It was 30 degrees Celsius each day, riding 67km per day — with 69% being on unpaved, rough roads. She certainly would have needed some stretches and rest at the end of that. What a wonderful way to see part of our amazing country.
Maria King (our Physio) travelled to Sri Lanka in March with her husband Steve and some friends. She got everyone involved in group stretches and balance exercises on a day of sightseeing, after climbing 1,200 steps to the top of Sigiriya Rock in Sri Lanka. These ruins are part of a 5th-century fortress city — amazing history alongside an incredible view.
Amanda Donlan (Advanced Floppy & Strong Bones Classes) recently travelled through Egypt and Jordan. Here she is balancing in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, doing push-ups in Petra, and heel drops in Jerash, Jordan. A whole-body workout while seeing some of the ancient world’s history.
Prajakti Khursale (Advanced Floppy Classes) during a trip to Canberra, taking some time for a psoas stretch in the lush gardens at the Arboretum on the outskirts of Canberra.
Ros Murray (Silver Strong Class) took a short trip down the road, undergoing a double knee replacement in September at the Mater Hospital. She used her Physiocise knowledge and began her breathing exercises after surgery. She’s had a marvellous result and is excited that her knees are better than ever. Ros was back doing her Physiocise class just 6 weeks post surgery. How amazing is she — and now ready for travelling even further afield.
We love seeing our clients’ adventures whilst helping them stay active.
ABC RADIO SYDNEY
Falls are one of the biggest health challenges we face as we age. Over the age of 65, 1 in 3 people will experience a fall each year. Combine that with a stroke, and the risk of falling becomes even higher.
New research has shown that exercise can reduce the risk of falls after stroke by up to 30%, while also improving everyday function and confidence.
Anna-Louise, recently joined by Prof Catherine Dean, spoke on ABC Radio Sydney about this important research.

PHYSIO AWARDS NIGHT
In April, we were able to take time to celebrate two of our amazing staff members at the annual national Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Dinner.
Sue Mavin celebrated 30 years as an APA member and livened up the evening with her celebratory dance moves while accepting her certificate.
Meanwhile, Josie Wild gave the keynote address on her recent charity work with Olive Tree Health. Read more about Olive Tree Health below.
We are constantly amazed by the impressive staff who work with Physiocise.

OLIVE TREE HEALTH
Josie was invited to be the keynote speaker at the NSW Australian Physiotherapy Association Awards Dinner in April. She spoke about Olive Tree Health — the charity she founded to address the gap in treatment for complex trauma caused by domestic and family violence.
In a room of approximately 100 physios, including many enthusiastic members of the Physiocise team, Josie spoke about the powerful effect of body-based therapy in healing the impacts of complex trauma on the brain, nervous system, and body. There was fantastic engagement in the room, with lots of curiosity around nervous system regulation activities, along with thoughtful questions and reflections during the Q&A at the end.
The women supported by Olive Tree Health have faced indescribable abuse and coercive control, and are often in financially precarious situations. Olive Tree Health relies on donations so that cost is not a barrier to recovery and healing. To achieve the 2026 goal of enabling 44 women to attend programs over 6 months, Olive Tree Health requires a further $60,000 in funding.
Josie invites you to consider supporting women (and therefore their children) in accessing the unique and powerful healing that Olive Tree Health offers:

Donations are tax-deductible and gratefully received. If you would like to contribute to making a life-changing difference in the lives of women who have survived so much, please visit: https://olivetreehealth.com.au/signup
We are planning an in-person event hosted by Physiocise, focusing on the work of Olive Tree Health, including the powerful impact of nervous system regulation. Please register your interest by emailing josie@olivetreehealth.com.au. More details to come!
