OUR PHYSIO
Pip Loel

BAppSc(Phty), APAM

In 2014, Pip came to Physiocise as a client and was so impressed by the high level of professional experience and the clear communication skills of our physios she was determined to join the team.

As the Mum of four beautiful girls, she had to find some time first and has now got to the point where she can devote much more of her time to Physiocise. She loves distance running and keeping fit and has a heightened understanding of the importance of balancing training with appropriate specific and functional exercise to minimise body breakdown!

She gained experience in the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic spinal and peripheral injuries during her time working in private practice in Australia and the United Kingdom. Her work in the area of Occupational Rehabilitation gave her valuable experience in the assessment and management of acute and chronic work-related conditions and gained greater insight into the influence of stress, mood, emotions, and thinking patterns on chronic pain.  She learned the importance of physical activity, goal setting and pacing, and the value of clear, effective education and communication. Pip also facilitated training sessions in large and small organisations and educated workers on injury prevention strategies such as appropriate working postures, workstation set-ups and work routines.

Pip has also worked as a physiotherapy Childbirth Educator running prenatal educational sessions for groups of expectant parents and support people, improving participants’ knowledge and confidence in their ability to manage pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. She has experience teaching pelvic floor activation and care, postural correction, body positioning, and manual handling during pregnancy and postnatally.

Classes are a big part of Pip’s professional life, teaching pre-natal aqua classes and aqua fitness classes as well as pre-natal and post-natal exercise classes to clients with diverse rehabilitation and fitness needs and is also a qualified Pilates instructor. She is a real people person and enjoys combining exercise with discussion and education.

Pip has super strong communication skills and is passionate about education and exercise. Pip loves that Physiocise combines these areas beautifully and loves being part of a motivated, supportive and passionate group of physiotherapists. She is currently on a family sabbatical to help those closest to her, and we look forward to her return! You will still find her covering other physios who are on leave at various times!

Pip is available for consultations at our Willoughby studio.
